Account / Billing FAQ
How do I upgrade or downgrade my subscription?
Edit your listing and select the new package that you’d like.
Are package upgrades prorated?
Annual packages will be manually prorated. For example, if you had just recently paid for an Annual Full Featured Listing, and you now want a TBC Certified Listing, you will be refunded the unused portion of your first Annual package after the Certification is approved.
Monthly packages will not be prorated. For example, if you just spend $10 on a monthly subscription and then later that week, decided to upgrade to an Annual listing, you would not be refunded any portion of that first $10.
Are there any refunds if I downgrade?
No; payments are final. Your listing will maintain the features of the paid listing for the full paid period, and will then downgrade to the default Free Listing.

TBC Certification FAQ
What is TBC Certification?
The TBC Certification program is an organized effort to recognize the breeders who are proactively health testing their cats and who have demonstrated their desire to put their cats’ well-beings first. These breeders will show at the top of search results in our directory, giving them greater exposure. This also helps to educate customers about the importance of choosing a breeder who is not cutting corners. Click here to learn more about the program.
How do I get “certified?”
You will have to upgrade your listing to the $249/year package and submit the appropriate documentation. Please review the full instructions on this page.
What do you check for?
In short, verification that the breeder does the following:
- Registers their cats and kittens
- Takes measures to protect their lines from HCM
- Tests for P/K Deficiency
- Tests for PRA-b
- Doesn’t let their kittens go home too early
- Strives to keep their cats in a good environment
- Agrees to the TBC Code of Ethics, the first point being this: In all things, I strive to put my cats’ well-being at the forefront of my program.

Why should I get certified?
The main purpose of our Certification efforts is to show prospective buyers what a great breeder looks like. I can’t replace the work of a diligent buyer, but I can at least help make their scouting job a little easier and make sure you have plenty of amazing kitten families to pick from. If you support us here and want to set a good example to other breeders while gaining positive exposure for your cattery, we hope you’ll find it well worth the cost and effort to get certified.
I do all of those health tests! Can’t you show that on my listing without me having to pay the upgraded rate?
Sorry, but to receive the benefits of certification, including top placement and greater exposure within the directory, the annual fee applies.
If you want to stick with a free listing but want to share with buyers that you complete essential testing, you can include this in your “About” paragraph and have additional info available on your own website.
You could also upgrade to a regular paid listing, which gives you the options to select which health tests you complete, but this is not the same as Certification, which is only granted after manual verification of your health testing.
As a side note, if you are able to set aside some funds for a “marketing” budget, you will likely find that the increase in exposure will provide you with increased demand. This will allow you to raise your kitten prices accordingly and will allow you to be more selective with the families your kittens go to ?
